Yes it is! We firmly believe that the future of work is blended and integrated, and that there is space for everyone to own their career and plan their preferred lifestyle. That might mean upskilling and adding value to your present role, negotiating more flexibility about where and when you work, or acing your next performance review. Furthermore, the past few years have brought so much upheaval, that (without any intent of scaremongering) there’s really no such thing as a 100% ‘safe’ job nowadays.

So for both these reasons, yes, RWE Connected is for you. You don’t have to be planning to launch a new side hustle or even look for a new job, to want to invest in your professional and personal development as a remote worker.

RWE Connected is a closed community, and we will require all participants to read and agree to a Code of Conduct, which includes - among other things - that what's shared in the community stays in the community. So if you're testing ideas for something new, or sharing a dilemma about your career, you can be assured of a safe space to express yourself.

However, we cannot enforce this legally or otherwise, and we do not recommend sharing proprietary IP or personally sensitive data in the community. Furthermore, we expect the community to grow and change its membership over time, so you should be aware of that when sharing - a factor we intend to enrich and grow our collective value to each other as RWE Connected evolves.

We're hosting Remote Work Europe Connected on the Circle platform, which is a beautifully designed app for the browser and mobile. Most of our conversation will be in threaded channels, a bit like WhatsApp, Slack or Teams, or good old-fashioned forums (though Circle is a lot slicker and prettier!) The conversations are organised into threads, and we will also have live event calls too - but most of our communication will be text-based and in threads. We'll do the 'Out-of-office Hours' this way too, because it's far easier for people to find the information they need, as well as chipping in to the conversation when it's joyful and convenient to do so… We definitely do NOT want to be filling your calendar up with even more meetings!

Both Maya and Diana offer one-to-one professional consultancy. However RWE Connected has been created to offer a far more accessible and affordable "one-to-many" approach, which enables us to support more people, while still focusing on individual needs and challenges.

This also means that whatever support is offered both benefits other members, and benefits from the input of the whole community. Because we can all learn from one another, and the crowd can be wiser than any individual.

You can ask about anything you like, so long as it is related to remote work in some way - career decisions, business dilemmas, tech conundrums…whatever is on your mind. (However please note, we will NOT be able to give professionally indemnified advice in specialist areas like tax, immigration, etc.)

If we don't know the answer or cannot help, then we'll say so, and see what we can do to find out. Perhaps your question will require a more detailed response, and it might inspire an expert guest session or future podcast/article.

The idea of these sessions is that we will respond in real-time, and it builds a body of knowledge to which we can all refer back, hence the weekly chat threads rather than video/audio.

We want to create an inclusive and welcoming community, and it's really more important that members resonate with the values we share, rather than be physically located in any particular place. Further, we appreciate that a lot of remote workers are location-flexible and nomadic, and may not have a base anywhere.

That said, we will be emphasising European news and markets, as well as focusing on our timezones for live events. So, it's completely up to you… Why not use the free trial to check things out, if you're not sure?
